How do I apply?

Please go onto our website www.lns.org.uk and go to the sixth form area. We are creating a new platform for the sixth form admissions. You will need to click on the link and create yourself a login and password. You will also need to work out if you want to follow one of these three pathways; LNS Sixth Form, Maritime Pathway or Football Academy Pathway

What do I need to complete my application to The London Nautical School?

  • An online account
  • The course title that you want to apply to
  • Personal Information
  • Personal Statement
  • Full name and contact details for your referee(s).

How do I create a new online account to submit an application form?

Go to https://lns.heiapply.com/application and complete the form, keeping note of your email address and password that you used.

How do I log in to my account?

Go to https://lns.heiapply.com/application/login and put in your email address and password that you used to register your account with.

What if I forget my password?

Contact us if you have forgotten your password support@heiapply.com. We will identify you and send the password securely to you, or give you access to reset your password.

Can I take my time to complete the application form?

Yes, of course. You can save each section and come back to it at a later date. Just don't forget your password.

Can I edit after submitting my application form?

No. Once you have submitted we review the information that you have provided. We may ask you for more information, but you can't edit your application.

Can I track my application after submitting?

Yes, just log in and use Application Tracker in the Quicklinks menu.

Can I contact someone about my application?

Yes, if you have any questions during the admissions process please get in touch with us via the Communication Inbox in your Quicklinks Menu

I want to change my referee - how do I do this?

If you have not submitted your application form, you can log in and edit it straight away. If you have submitted and wish to change your referee, then please contact us by logging in and sending us a communication through your Communication Inbox.

I have started an application to The London Nautical School but I have changed my mind and decided not to submit it after all. Can I delete it ?

You can't delete it, but can you contact us through your Communication Inbox and we will do it for you.

On the application form what is a UCI?

A Unique Candidate Identifier (UCI). Every student has one 13-character code that is unique to them. It is used to collect results for each student across time and different exam boards, schools or colleges. (Thirteen digits long with a random letter at the end). You can get this from your school office. It will also be on your exam results.

On the application form what is a ULN?

The Unique Learner Number (ULN) is a 10-digit reference number which is used alongside and to access the Personal Learning Record of anyone over the age of 13 involved in UK education or training. ... The ULN can also help learners throughout their lifelong learning, particularly when accessing careers advice. You can get this from your school office. It will also be on your exam results.

I have not received an automatic confirmation of my application, what do I do?

Check the spam folder of your email account. If the confirmation email has not been received, please send message to us via the portal.

What will I need to wear for Sixth form at LNS?

All students, with no exceptions, must be smartly dressed (office wear) for every lesson onsite.

Whilst in the building students will be expected to follow the whole school dress code policy and no coats or jackets should be worn in the corridors, library or classrooms.

The lists below are not by any means exhaustive and final discretion of what is not appropriate would be up to the Assistant Head teacher of 6th Form.

I am in Year 12 already, can I still join the Academy?

Yes, students have 3 years of funding at School Sixth forms.

LNS Football Academy Specific

Can I join the Academy and stay at my current school?

No, this primarily an education programme with a football pathway. Players will have access to an A-Level or BTEC academic pathway or players can choose to study the BTEC Sport Level 3 Extended Diploma alongside a full programme of football training.

Which A-level subjects can I study?

The full list can be found on the new London Nautical School website. However, please note that these can change due to lack of interest.

Can I study four A-levels?

No, we provide a 3 A Level/Equivalent offer at LNS Sixth Form.

Can my friends join the school, if they don’t want to join the Football Academy?

Yes, the Sixth Form is open to all external applicants and you can choose either the Football Academy pathway, LNS 6th Form Pathway or Maritime Pathway.

Can I resit my English and Maths, if I don’t get the grades?

This is dependent on whether you meet the criteria for the other courses you wish to study.

Can you get me trials at professional clubs?

We play showcase games against professional clubs’ academies. If players join our academy and are good enough then we will place them on trial at professional clubs. However, this will only happen for a small number of players and we never make any guarantees.

Are you the Crystal Palace Youth Academy?

We are affiliated to Crystal Palace and we represent them in the National Leagues, however we are not the Crystal Palace professional youth team.

What leagues do your teams play in?

We play in the National Football Youth League and the Youth Development League.

How many teams do you have in the Academy?

There are 3 teams in each year.

Can I play for my grassroots club if I join the Academy?

You will still be able to play for another team while playing for the Academy team. It is up to you as to how much you think you can manage.

When do I know if I get accepted on the Academy?

You will be sent an offer letter following your trials, references and interview.

When are the interviews due to take place?

December to March. LNS will email you to let you know. This will be through the application progress meter.

Does the Academy offer residential facilities?

No, players are expected to live at home and travel to the school 5 days a week.

Can I get a travel bursary to attend the Academy?

All students are welcome to apply for the Bursary but this is means tested and depends of personal circumstances.

My parents can’t afford to buy the tracksuit, can I get a bursary?

All students are welcome to apply for the Bursary but this is means tested and depends of personal circumstances.

What days do you play matches?

Match days tend to be on a Wednesday, although other showcase fixtures are often organised in the evenings or at the weekend

I am injured but want to trial for the Football Academy, what should I do?

If you’re not fit to attend an upcoming trial, we would encourage you to come along anyway to meet the coaches and learn more about the programme. We would then invite you along to a future trial date once you are back to full fitness.

Will I need a PE kit for the Football Academy?

Yes, once you have been accepted into the football academy you will be given the list of items you will need for the Football Academy.

Please note though, all students, with no exceptions, must be smartly dressed (office wear) for every lesson onsite. Students who are part of the LNS Football academy are not exempt from this and unless you are on your way out to a fixture you will be expected to follow the dress code.
